There’s a reason that Europe has been so globally influential throughout the years and that’s because it’s the grand daddy of creativity and inspiration. It’s no coincidence that the continent has produced so many artists, philosophers and scientists. Europe will leave you with much more than a love affair of the heart, but will bash open your head and set your mind free.

With so many countries rammed together in a small space, Europe is a hard-hitting cocktail of culture and food. Because the history of Europe is more colourful than tie-dye t shirt (we’re looking at you, summer camp staff.)

Single countries have a very eclectic mix of cultural influences, which means that very few European cities are ever described as boring (besides Preston.) Whether you’re a fancy pants who’s into architecture and museums or a party animal who’s looking for a good time, then Europe can more than fulfil your needs.

There’s no such thing as European food, because, while many countries may only be a day-trip away, they’re all distinct in their culinary offerings, each with icons they can call their own. From tapas to tortellini, from gulasch to bitterballen, a foodie in Europe is like a fat kid in a sweet shop.
